Enbridge has an exciting opportunity for you! To support the
Enbridge US Income Tax Team System by complying with federal,
state, and local income tax laws, maintaining tax processes that
maximize efficiency, and performing tax planning, as needed
necessary to reduce the present value of Enbridge tax payments.
Primary focus is on tax provision and tax compliance but will also
include the coordination with tax planning and research in
analyzing federal, international and state income tax legislation
laws. The significant focus of this position will be regulated
natural gas utility businesses. If this sounds like something that

What you will do:
- Accountable to oversee the review of federal corporate and
partnership tax returns
- Reviews separate and combined state income tax and franchise
tax returns
- Participates in a specialist capacity in audit team activities
to facilitate audits and minimize tax expenses.
- Maintains tax depreciation system to calculate tax depreciation
and other property related tax adjustments.
- Relying on senior tax expertise, assists tax research and
planning in modeling transactions.
- Oversees the computation of internal budgets and
forecasts.
- Responsible for the tracking various tax attributes of
Enbridge's U.S. entities; including, but not limited to tax basis;
earnings and profits roll forwards and loss carryforwards (NOLs and
interest)
- As a tax specialist, assist in monitoring the complex U.S. tax
environment and legislation (including potential US Tax Reform),
including determining impacts on Enbridge's complex organizational
structure (especially the U.S. / Canadian structure)
- With reliance on their experience and expertise, participates
in recognizing and implementing new processes and technology to
streamline current processes.
- Supports the Income Tax Accounting Manager in reviewing
activities associated with the consolidated income tax provision
processes (ASC 740 and FIN 48), ensuring proper workflow and due
dates are met.
- Plays a specialist role in the preparation and/or review of
individual company GAAP tax provisions, interfacing tax
calculations with ORACLE, SAP and OneSource and Corptax Tax
Provision software.
- Supports Tax Reporting in the answering of audit
queries.
- Prepares tax calculations needed for regulatory compliance
(including tax disclosures and tax support in rate cases)
- Responsible for training individuals new to the group on
processes and systems.
Other Accountabilities
- Assist in other non-specific tax activities as needed
- This position requires an experienced U.S. tax person who is
driven by solving problems and focuses on technical challenges
requiring development of new tax efficient strategies for which
there may be no precedents. The significant focus of this position
is the regulated natural gas utility business.
- This position requires strong communication skills; including
strong researching, writing and summarizing competencies and the
ability to translate for non-tax personnel.
You have:
- A university graduate of Business Administration or a related
discipline.
- A certified Public Accountant designation and/or graduate
degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in
income tax preferably in the energy industry
You can:
- Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state income taxes, as
well as foreign information returns.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Tax Accounting.
You are:
- Someone with strong Excel, Word, oral and written communication
skills.
- A person with working knowledge of Corptax, OneSource, tax
research tools and PowerTax/BNA/OFA fixed asset software
preferred
- Someone with strong analytical skills.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20
pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing,
sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect
color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability
to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
