Director St. Mary Catholic School, League City, Texas As an
Educator this position's central purpose is to provide a creative,
innovative curriculum that is stimulating and challenging for
students. The educational environment that is established must be
in accordance with the Goals and Mission of our schools.
Responsibilities Teach a developmentally appropriate P.E.
curriculum to students in Pre K, Elementary and Middle School
grades. Develop lessons that encourage participation, creativity,
problem-solving, and healthy competition. Be a self-starter who
enjoys collaborating as a team player. Maintain an open and
cooperative relationship with students, colleagues, and parents.
Participate in faculty and department meetings and perform various
faculty supervisory duties on campuses where assigned in the day
Additional duties for Athletic Director will be defined by the
Princpal. Essential Functions Develops and administers school
curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives. Promotes a
classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized
and small group instruction and student learning. Develops lesson
plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into
learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for
instruction Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and
modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs,
including students with special needs; conducts individual and
small group instruction as needed. Continues to acquire
professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the
educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional
meetings, or by conducting research. Organizes and maintains a
system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and
reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as
required by procedures and applicable laws. Encourages parental
involvement in students' education and ensures effective
communication with students and parents. Ensures that student
conduct conforms to the school's standards as outlined in the
Student & Faculty Handbooks, and establishes and maintains
standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning
atmosphere in the classroom. Coordinates with other professional
staff members, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates
in faculty meetings and committees. Agrees to follow and uphold all

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current teaching
methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates
instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of school
curriculum and concepts. Knowledge of data information systems,
data analysis and the formulation of action plans. Knowledge of
applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to use computer network system and software applications as
needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to
communicate effectively with students and parents in person,
through electronic means, and in writing. Ability to engage in
self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
with others contacted in the course of work. A regular day for
teachers includes the following physical activities: Stand for long
periods of time Walk long distances across campus as well as within
classroom Run in order to model for expected activities Use hands
to handle or manipulate tools of teaching (technology, textbooks,
student work, chalkboard/whiteboard) Reach with hands and arms
Climb steps Sit for periods of time � chairs and floor Stoop,
kneel, crouch, or crawl Talk, hear, taste and smell Lift up to 50
lbs Qualifications & Education State Certification in the
appropriate grade level preferred. Bachelors from an accredited
college or university in Elementary Education or Kinesiology or
related discipline applicable to teaching assignment. Prior
experience will be considered. FLSA Status: Exempt (for full-time
professionals)
