Mentor and collaborate with plant machinists and other technical staff. Drive costs down with programming updates, insource machined products, and convert existing lines to machined products as capabilities allow. This role will serve as the SME for all machining topics.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 year related engineering experience or extensive CNC programming experience/training. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; ability to work collaboratively with user, development, and support groups; good written and oral communications skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing situations. Demonstrated leadership in supervising less experienced personnelExperience/Training in Six-Sigma and Lean techniques a plus, but not required.Job DescriptionProgram all new product lines on existing CNC workcenters, including new product introductions, reverse engineering, and insourcing.Select and lead all capital projects associated with portfolio or capability expansion in machining areas.Responsible to insure that all company quality standards are followed thus assuring that product shipped is of the highest possible quality.Develops, designs, and implements plans, processes, systems and procedures utilizing standard engineering or technology principles to complete assignments. Uses sound engineering judgment in making adaptations or modifications.Monitor the performance of products or operations. Analyze data and recommends changes to improve quality, cost, reliability and efficiency. Implementation of long-range improvement plans.Implement JCMS/Flow/Lean manufacturing practices measured through reduced cycle time and improved inventory turns.Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives for cost reductions in warranty, scrap and quality.Introduce capital projects and administer budget and planning per AOP.Address capacity demands and resource allocation per product line.Promote working relationships and communications with all departments.Solves problems related to products or operations. Provide technical assistance and training when necessary.May prepare or review product documentation, written instructions or technical literature design.Perform other duties as assigned.Interested in hearing more?
