Endoscopy Technologist, Surg Endoscopy GI - Full time at Christus Health summary: The Endoscopy Technologist assists in patient care coordination in the endoscopy department, prepares and maintains equipment, and supports invasive endoscopic procedures. They ensure sterile environments, manage supplies, and may rotate shifts including on-call assignments. Required skills include knowledge of sterilization, aseptic techniques, and endoscopy instruments, with certifications such as BLS and preferred GI certification. Description Summary: Assists with the coordination of care for patients in the endoscopy department. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and supplies and may assist in performing invasive endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities: • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. • Provides various service related activities to the delivery of direct and assistive patient care in the endoscopy service of the operating room prior to and during any endoscopic procedure. • Required to rotate shifts and accept on-call assignments. • Adept at establishing and maintaining sterile fields, ability to pull cases, capable in assisting for endoscopy procedures. • Knowledge of sterilization concepts and methods, aseptic techniques and endoscopy instruments.
