This is a Machinist
position located in Port Arthur, TX. The candidate must have manual
experience in the lathe, and experience with CNC. The ideal
candidate will have extensive knowledge of the general
manufacturing environment to include, able to work safely, able to
machine close tolerances +/- .001, precision tool grinding, the use
of overhead jib cranes, ergonomics, and inspection equipment. This
machinist position requires self-inspection of parts, able to use
trigonometry to find dimensions, and being able to work in a safe
and efficient manner.
The working hours are for a night shift. 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM Monday -
Thursday

Requirements
- Able to implement preventive maintenance
schedule and report equipment issues to
management.
- Provides technical assistance for common
equipment issues.
- Applies in-depth proficiency in all data
entry systems and
processes.
- Works closely with other machinists and
management in the installation and application of common machine
tooling.
- Controls individual tooling usage in
order to ensure maximum tool life and longevity. Communicates
tooling issues and recommendations to
management.
- Performs all aspects of manufacturing
within production standards with minimal
supervision.
- Assist in the training of other
machinists and their ability to perform within the
standards.
- Communicates suspected equipment or tool
failure in a timely
manner.
- Supports and participates in CIP
processes. Takes on an active role in at least one CIP from start
to finish.
- Demonstrates an understanding of ISO
procedures and uses them to better manage work processes and
identify problems.
- Maintains minimal scrap and rework on all
manufactured parts.
- Reports all discrepancies to management
immediately.
- Recognizes the common causes of scrap and
shares that knowledge with other
Machinists.
Responsibilities &
Requirements
- HS Diploma or
equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant
experience
- Experience operating a Manual Lathe and
Mill previous experience in gauge training, geometric tolerancing,
and blueprint
reading
- Must be able to hold a tolerance to
.0004
- Experience with CNC is a
plus.
- Proficiency using measurement
tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gages, various electronics
equipment would be a plus)
- Must be willing to work overtime
including weekends and participate in the call out
program
- Ability to operate and maneuver around
machinery safely to protect yourself and
coworkers
- Must be able to stand for long periods of
time
